If you’re wondering why Google would change its name to Topeka then go get your calendar and check the date! Apparently this was in response to the mayor of Topeka (a town in Kansas) who decided to change his town’s name to Google.

Topeka

Many people have been seraching the internet with the following question, “is google really changing its name?”. I mean they are perfectly within their rights to change their name but I’m not sure it would make much sense. It is probably the most famous website in the world after all.

According to Wikipedia April Fools dates back hundreds of years. There are references to the day in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales from 1392 and it may well be that this day was a traditional holiday.

We hope you enjoyed this Topeka Google April fools joke and that you didn’t go out and buy shares in some company called Topeka – check back later for other details on April Fool’s day pranks, practical jokes and tricks to play on your friends at school or at work.
