All eyes will be on former Florida Gators star quarterback Tim Tebow this afternoon in Mobile, Alabama, where he will represent the South team in the annual Senior Bowl.

For this first time in his football career, Tebow will step into a pro-style offense, quite different from the schemes created by Urban Meyer at Florida. Over the past week, some NFL scouts have lauded Tebow, saying he will one day become a great NFL quarterback due to his sheer strength, pocket awareness, and intangible “feel for the game.” On the other hand, many other scouts believe that Tebow simply does not have the arm strength, passing accuracy or the decision-making ability to quickly read defenses and make sharp adjustments at the line of scrimmage.

Most of all, scouts question Tebow’s throwing motion, which they claim makes him release the ball too low.

As for his competition, most recruiters ranked Tebow below fellow seniors Tony Pike and Jarrett Brown. Pike, who led his Cincinatti Bearcats to their first BCS bowl game in years, has impressed scouts primarily with his size and arm strength. While some believe is a very accurate passer, others question his ability to make plays more quickly at the NFL level. Brown, who was relatively unhyped coming into the Senior Bowl practices, has received a lot of commendation over his ability to deliver the ball into a small window, between several defenders.

Other quarterbacks who drew lesser interest from scouts included Sean Canfield of Oregon State, Dan LeFevour of Central Michigan, and Zac Robinson of Oklahoma State.
