The Who
The Who are set to make an appearance at the Superbowl Halftime show – in a shock to many traditional NFL fans who probably have either never heard of them, or know that they are in fact a British band.
There are a large number of ‘baby boomer’ aged rockers who have played in the Half Time show, but usually if a group appears they have something to sell or at least a new album to promote. Not so for The Who, who merely feel like their time has come to appear in one of the biggest sporting events of all time.
The Who
The Superbowl is taking place right now in Miami, Florida, and will see the Indianapolis Colts take on the New Orleans Saints in a match which will go down in history as a classic fight between the people’s champion and the angry powerhouse.

The Who
This will certainly be the biggest audience that The Who have performed in front of, with an American audience of over 100 million and many millions more beyond in the rest of the world. They obviosuly won’t be afraid of an increase in album sales as a result of their performance – after Tom Petty performed at the Superbowl in 2008 his sales of his Greatest Hits album rose nearly 200% in the following week.
Even if this is the first time you’ve seen The Who perform, it’s not the first time you’ve heard them – they also sing the title track for CSI.
