The Hutaree Militia

The arrests of nine members of the Hutaree Militia, a Christian extremist group, shows America that terrorism can be homegrown and perpetrated by white men with no affiliations to Muslim extremism. The Christian militia plotted to murder a policeman and then target the funeral with homemade bombs to kill many many more, in an act designed to create panic and ultimately a war on the US government.

The FBI staged raids in three states, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana and have successfully charged the group with seditious conspiracy, teaching the use of explosive materials and attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.

The Christian militia was mere days away from exacting its distressing aims and shines light on the deranged nature of some sections of American society who think acts like these are needed to bring about change in a government they see has neglected the core values of the American people.

Had the attack been successful, the members of the Hutaree militia would have retreated to rally points and defended their position with booby trapped explosives and anti-personnel devices reminiscent of Modern Warfare 2′s claymore and C4 packs.

Hurtaree posted on their website that they are “preparing for the end time battles to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive.” This form of extremism is incredibly dangerous as topics like abortion and same-sex marriage fuel the fire of Christians who are clearly misreading The Good Book’s intentions. The FBI has warned people to be vigilant and report anything they may suspect of causing any danger to an American citizen. With the Christian Hutaree militia safely locked up, people will now be discussing why they did it, and how they thought such a violent insurrection could be beneficial to America.
