At wide receiver, the Saints feature Marques Colston, Robert Meacham, Devery Henderson and Lance Moore. In the backfield, Pierre Thomas takes the brunt of the load, but backs Reggie Bush and Mike Bell are also in the mix.
As for the Colts, their field general Peyton Manning threw for 4500 yards this year on 33 touchdown and 16 interceptions. Around him, he has wide receivers Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, and Austin Collie. Another of Manning’s favorite targets is the sure-handed tight end, Dallas Clark. Behind the line, the Colts start Joseph Addai at running back, occasionally spelling him with Donald Brown or Mike Hart.
As of the morning before the game, most fans believed that the Colts would defeat the Saints. In addition, the betting line favored the Colts by 5 points.
