In just a few short hours, Super Bowl XLIV will kick off from Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.

This year’s contest features two of the most potent offenses in the NFL this season. The game will also showcase arguably the league’s two best quarterbacks in Drew Brees of the Saints and Peyton Manning of the Colts.

During the regular season, both the Saints and the Colts captured the best records in the respective conferences, the NFC and the AFC. This gave both squads home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

One of the bigger story lines in today’s game is how well Colts star defensive end Dwight Freeney will be able to play on his injured ankle. In the Colts’ 29-17 win over the New York Jets in the AFC Championship Game two weeks ago, Freeney tore a ligament in his ankle. Though he has been rehabbing the ankle as quickly as possible, the Colts have so far not tipped their hand about Freeney. While he is expected to play, it is very unclear how comfortable he will be.

While Freeney remains a question mark, Colts go-to receiver Reggie Wayne is apparently feeling fine after aggravating a knee injury during practice on Friday.

On the other side of the ball, the Saints do not have any major injuries to report, though they do have a bunch of players listed as probable with minor injuries.
