Saturday's Olympic Medals Table
Saturday’s Olympic Medals Table sees the Canadian team storming ahead with regards to gold medals as they now have twelve, with only two days competition left. Canada have won a spectacular 4 golds in the last day, picking up medals in team speed skating and snowboarding amongst others. However, the USA still comfortably lead in terms of total medals, with an awe-inspiring 36. This data is accurate as of 2:30 pm Vancouver time.

The USA now have nine gold, fourteen silver and thirteen bronze making a spectacular total of 36. Germany are just behind with 29, comprising ten gold, twelve silver and seven bronze. Canada have leapfrogged Norway into third with their 12 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze making 24 in total. The Norwegian team have fallen into fourth with 21 medals in total thanks to Canada’s gold rush.
Canada will be extremly happy this Saturday as they are now top of the table on gold medals, and third in terms of total medals. This is proof that the ‘Own the Podium’ strategy employed by the home nation has succeeded. The top ten in terms of ranking looks like this (figure shown is total medals).
