Rahul Gandhi
Controversial politician Rahul Gandhi will hear protests from members of the Shiv Sena today while he visits two different sides of Mumbai during a short trip to the Indian metropolis.
Gandhi, who represents the Amethi constituency, currently resides in New Delhi and is a member of the populist Indian National Congress party. His political opponents, the Shiv Sena, warned him to “keep off the Maharastra” two days ago, but this threat has not deterred Mr. Gandhi from visiting the western Indian state.

The Shiv Sena is a far-right political party based in Maharastra known for their belief that Maharastra ought to belong to the Marathi community and that preferences should be given to Marathis over recent immigrants to Mumbai.
Prior to Gandhi’s visit to Mumbai, officials arrested several local leaders of the Shiv Sena. Many members of the Shiv Sena will allegedly follow Mr. Gandhi around today carrying black flags to protest his visit.
At about 11 a.m., Gandhi will give a short speech to selected students from different areas in the chic Juhu neighborhood, a northern district of Mumbai.
Later, Gandhi will travel to the Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar slums, where he will garland a statue of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Ambedkar and then visit with some youth from the area.
