Puppy Bowl 2010

Fans who look forward to the Super Bowl commercials and the halftime show more than the actual game should do themselves a favor and check out the annual Puppy Bowl today.

The alternative halftime show on Animal Planet features a bunch of adorable little puppies wrestling and tumbling over each other for hours. The puppies play together on a miniature football field, complete with obstacles and a water pail.

This year, 43 puppies will be “competing” in the Puppy Bowl. All of them are currently up for adoption. The Puppy Bowl also includes a referee, who calls penalties on puppies who get too aggressive.

The Puppy Bowl was filmed and taped before Super Bowl Sunday. According to the show’s producers, the final 2-hour cut was taken from 2 days of filming.

Bunny Cheerleaders, Flying Hamsters and a Kitten Halftime Show

This year, the Puppy Bowl will mix things up a bit by featuring a team of bunny cheerleaders. In addition, the halftime show of the Puppy Bowl is a bunch of kittens apparently pawing at each other and meowing. Finally, the show’s producers even decided to bring a bunch of hamsters into the mix by having them fly over the “field” in a blimp.
