The Oscar results were hardly surprising when all was said and done. The movie that everyone thought deserved some awards, Avatar, got mostly what it was due but failed to take home the Best Picture award that it was mainly after. Kathryn Bigelow who directed the low budget The Hurt Locker also receive the praise that many thought belong to her with the Best Director award as well as Best Picture.
