The National Society for Epilepsy, which is one of the major charities related to the condition in the UK, has warned that everyone should be cautious about any sort of treatment, but has not yet said that people should completely ignore these natural remedies.

The doctors who carried out the research into ginkgo biloba want the manufacturers to carry warnings on their products, and also to perform more tests to see if there are increased levels of toxins in them.

This news comes as other natural remedies, such as St John’s Wort, have already been linked to an increase in seizures among epilepsy patients.
