With the full London 2012 Olympics schedule now released, fans of all disciplines can being planning their trip to the 30th Olympic games in just over a year. The organisers of London 2012 have divided the cost of tickets into five categories A-E with a few select events having AA status. Category A is the most expensive, with prices rising upwards of £400 for gold medal events but can be as little as £20 for preliminaries.

For athletics almost everything of interest will be decided from the 5th to the 8th of August including the marquee track and field events whilst the 9th to the 11th is reserved mainly for the relay events. The business end of the basketball events run from the 8th of August starting with the quarter finals until the 12th where the gold medal match will be decided.
Fans of football treating the Olympics as a mini World Cup will be able to see the quarter finals from the 3rd of August with the final taking place at Wembley on the 12th. Prices are £50 for the most expensive QF, while the SF and Final is £125, much less than standard football tickets prices. Another fan favourite at the London 2012 Olympics will be the swimming events, that are markedly more expensive than many other events. With gold medals being decided almost every day, the price for the most expensive ticket is either £150 or £295 but can reach £450 for the AA seats.
And for those of you want to see a re-run of Wimbledon, the tennis gets interesting from the 2nd of August with the Qfs of the Men’s singles with the final of the men’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles all on the 5th. The women’s singles is on the 4th with all matches played at Wimbledon.
As regards ticketing, tickets are not on sale yet even though the pricing and London 2012 Olympics schedule has been released. London 2012 tickets go on sale from March 15th to April 26th but don’t worry about rushing to buy them on the first day. All applications made for tickets between these two dates will be considered NOT on a first-come-first-served basis.
