Joe Cole Liverpool
Liverpool, England (BGN) – The series of high profile off-season transfer moves continues following a World Cup where established names have been subdued and new stars have emerged. One of the names that was discussed prior to the biggest football tournament in the world as likely to make a big impact, but failed to deliver, was the ex-Chelsea player Joe Cole. Liverpool, it has been reported, has signed the 28 year old international to a £90,000 a week contract that will run a total of four years.
Joe Cole Liverpool
Joe Cole’s transfer to Liverpool comes at a crucial time for the Reds – amid financial woes, a sub-par season, and several top flight players such as Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres mulling potential moves away from Anfield. New Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has in a short time instilled confidence back among the Anfield hopeful – with transfers of Milan Jovanovic and now Joe Cole bringing some much needed new blood to the club that has failed to win a a cup in the past 4 years.

Joe Cole going to Liverpool
Joe Cole’s contract was not renewed by Premiership champions Chelsea, and they let the once wonder kid of English football walk away, essentially, for free. Fabio Capello was also not a big fan, playing him a total of 45 minutes in two substitute appearances. However, the demand for Cole’s services was quite high with both Arsenal and Tottenham make strong plays to acquire the talents of Joseph John Cole.
The Joe Cole Liverpool partnership could be the beginning of a new chapter for the Reds, and only time will tell whether the Roy Hodgson era will come anywhere close to the accomplishments set by former Liverpool boss, Rafa Benitez.
