Idol Gives Back 2010
The once a year phenomenon that is American Idol: Idol Gives Back 2010 goes live in a few hours in a two-hour special that will feature tons of celebrities championing the causes and charities American Idol supports.

This year Idol Gives Back will be a star studded event and these artists are all slated to perform:
Alicia Keys
Carrie Underwood
The Black Eyed Peas
Annie Lennox
Jeff Beck & Joss Stone
Mary J Blige.
Annie Lennox has been a seminal political activist who has devoted much of her life in raising awareness for a number of causes around the world, so her presence will certainly lend the atmosphere an air of gravitas. Likewise the big draw of the night could be Sir Elton John’s appeared as he aims to raise awareness for HIV/Aids through his Elton John AIDS Foundation.
There will also be a talk from Bill and Melinda Gates who, through the Gates Foundation have spent millions supporting charitable causes since its inception. American Idol: Idol Gives Back is part of a long running idea on the show from creator Simon Fuller that has raised over $140 million for charity. This year, Idol Gives Back 2010 will focus on charities including, but not limited to, the Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children’s U.S. Programs and the United Nations Foundation.
