There are a few words which your children long to hear when they ask you where you are going on holiday this summer "We're going to Disney World!" The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida is the largest theme park in the world, if you count all land owned by The Walt Disney Company, and Disney World is by far the most exciting, thrilling and magical place on earth. Made up of four theme parks, two water parks, as well as 25 (soon to be 27) Disney hotels as well as countless shops and restaurants, there is something for everyone in the family, from the very young to the very old.

Magic Kingdom, the first and most iconic theme park in Disney World, is centred around the Cinderella Castle or the Magic Castle, based on the Disney castle logo. The park fans out from the bottom o he castle into a series of different lands. Tomorrowland, based on space and space travel, is home to the first of the three mountains of Magic Kingdom, Space Mountain. A fast, thrilling ride through the pitch black with only the stars as your guide, Space Mountain is a great starter rollercoaster for those of you not used the giant rollercoaster which can be found in the theme parks in and around Orlando.

Disney's Hollywood Studios celebrates the golden age of Hollywood. Guests can see Disney animated films being made in the Art of Animation building, or tour the Studio Backlot to see props and staging from some of Disney's biggest movies. The Hollywood Tower Hotel, one of the glitziest and most glamourous hotels in Hollywood, according to Disney legend, is home to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Plunge down 13 stories in a service elevator and maybe enter…the twilight zone (cue crack of thunder).

EPCOT is based on visions Walt Disney himself had of creating the "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow". After Walt's death in December 1966 EPCOT became what it is today, a theme park of two halves. FutureWorld dedicated to science and creating a more sustainable way of life, is the mainstay of Walt's vision. World Showcase brings 11 countries of the world to Disney World. With entertainment, shopping and restaurants from Japan, Mexico, Norway and more, World Showcase is fun to explore at a slower pace than the other Disney parks.

Disney's Animal Kingdom is the world's largest animal theme park, and is the newest Disney park in the World Disney World Resort. In the centre of the Animal Kingdom is the Tree of Life, a huge tree which is carved with 325 animals, and is one of the most beautiful sights in the whole of Disney World.
