Discovery Middle School Shooting

Discovery Middle School located in Madison, Alabama was the scene of yet another tragic US school shooting. A 14 year old kid by the name of Todd Brown lost his life when he was shot point blank in the head by a fellow ninth grade student. The shooters name has not been released but he is in custody.

The series of  events that led to this tragic event was largely unexpected. Dr. Dee Fowler, Superintendent of Madison City Schools, explained that the shooting happened about 1:45pm, during a class change in the ninth grade hallway.

As soon as the Discovery Middle Schoot shooting happened, a school resource officer rushed to see what had just transpired, as well a school nurse. Emergency personnel responded to the school immediately, and were with the injured students by 1:48pm, but the damage had already been done.
