A cat with its head in a can has walked into a rescue centre in Fife, Scotland – and the very strange site has left rescuers wondering how it came come about.

It is thought that the cat with its head in a tin had accidentally wedged itself in when it was looking for some food inside. It is not known whether the cat was succesful in its search for food.

The Scottish SPCA said that the moggy wandered into its Middlebank Centre on Sunday, and they were surprised at how the four-legged feline managed to find its way to help, without being able to see.

After the can was removed from the cat’s head, she was checked by the vets in the centre. The rescue centre manager said: “Luckily no damage was done and the little cat was very pleased to be freed from the discomfort that comes with having your head stuck inside a tin can.”

The only clue to the cat’s real identity was a distinctive collar that it was wearing – with green cat’s eyes imprinted on it. The story of the cat with its head in a can just goes to show that curiosity does not always kill the cat.
