It’s been a hectic couple of months for Activision and it’s most popular franchise – Call of Duty – and they’re hoping to leave everything behind with their latest game in the franchise set to come out on November 9 2010: Call of Duty: Black Ops. Multiplayer details have been revealed and if this latest trailer is anything to go by, it looks like Activision Blizzards’ Treyarch studio will have no problem capitalizing on the huge success of the recent Call of Duty Modern Warfare games, with the second one becoming the best selling game of all time. Before we let you watch Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer trailer however, we should give fans of the series a heads up about the possible changes that might be coming to the Call of Duty series.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Details

Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI) CEO Bobby Kotick has made it clear that there is nothing he would like to see more than a Call of Duty MMO, and that could become reality in this latest incarnation of Call of Duty. There’s no certain proof that Call of Duty: Black Ops MMO will become a reality, but Kotick and COO Thomas Tippl both informed investors in their recent Q2 earnings call that they would announce their multiplayer plans for Call of Duty in the near future.

The Call of Duty Black Ops multiplayer trailer neither confirms nor denies the possibility of a Call of Duty MMO, but it’s interesting that at the end of the trailer, they do leave the room for what would seem like a rather large announcement:

Full Multiplayer Reveal September 1st

So looking at the actual Call of Duty: Black Ops trailer – we can immediately see that it’s going to be some of the same adrenaline pumping action as before, with probably some steroid doses here and there. As for the Call of Duty Black Ops weapons that we got a chance to see in this latest video: a crossbow with explosive arrows, a deadly ‘skewer’, and a radio controlled car bomb that blows up (akin to the sheep in the Worms video games).

call of duty black ops recording

The other big Call of Duty Black ops teaser info we got a chance to see is a video recording and editing feature which will let you show off your wildest killing sprees to presumably the whole world.

So all in all, it looks like Activision Blizzard has another hit on its hand. We’ll sure to keep you updated with all the Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer details when we hear more information. • I can not wait till black ops comes out because the guns are better and the R.C. car killstreak is sick!!!!!

  • Black ops will fail, why bring it out so close to halo reach, it wont stand a chance.

    • Man HALO sucks ASS man and i am not a fanboy of CoD or anything i like all games unless i think theyre rubbish like Halo Reach

    • are you kidding me with the halo crap that game is a poser it filled a void between the battlefield 2 modern combat online for consoles and counterstrike for pcs to the modern warfare game its done now face halo is burned out nobody cares

    • call of duty is well prefered to halo its halo that wont stand a chance

      • moviemaster1993

no halo will inevitably fail because here is nothing new everyone knows how it ends and the only new thing is a massive forgeworld which will just make the game even more boring black ops has already got more pre orders than mw2 at this time and now that the multiplayer trailer has been revealed that is more anticipation and mw2 was the best game ever made not because of rating because of the worldwide gross

    • Daryl McBride

Haha did you play halo ODST epic fail, The reach beta was a fail compared to halo 2, The game has been ruined its a done Franchise

      • well halo does suck and it will continue to suck because Halo:reach is Bungie’s last game working on the halo franchise and 343studios is going to continue to work on halo but i think future halo games will suck so yes the franchise is a FAIL!

    • more like halo will fail everyone like cod more halo sucks my nan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I’m getting both :P

  • the r/c car is fun when you are using it, but when people use it against you it can be annoying. especially when its only a 3 kill streak reward, hopefully treyarch knows what theyre doing and hopefully release a beta so we can test it.

  • are they really gnna charge for multiplayer?

  • i love cod but as josh is saying. i am not really botherd if a do i mean the gameplay and everything is amizon and same wi multiplayer im joshy and im a cod fan.

  • If all the bad players from mw2 come on this, it will be shit.it will also be rubbish if there are guns with no badsides…. The ACR anyone?

  • I think Call of Duty is shaping up to be a solid title, but rumors of Activision charging for multiplayer is just absurd. As a gamer I think we pay more then enough for our games… We don’t need another charge just to play a few online matches. I think if Activision goes through with that idea and begins to charge consumers, they are going to lose a lot of their fanbase… Which I believe is the lifeline for any video game publisher or developement company’s success.

    • god thats why i like xbox more they dont have to pay a dumass fee to play online on cod xbox owns you ps3 see how it feels hahahahahaah

  • Charging for online multiplayer gaming SUCKS!!! Big Time.

  • if they charge for the multiplayer side then i wont be buying it. i cant validate paying $70CAD for campaign PLUS an online fee. if i wanted to pay to be online i would have bought an XBox.

    • Ouch. Xbox is far, far superior to PS3. The online works out at less than 17p a day and youre complaining? Get a job you fool.

  • black ops is gonna be the biggest hit since mw2…. all u lame loser halo players need to face the facts….halo is done for….
