black ops patch problems black ops patch ps3 call of duty black ops patch 1.04 call of duty black ops ps3UPDATE – It seems that Treyarch have been listening to the feedback from the Black Ops patch problems and are applying several hot fixes to get the game working again. The Black Ops patch problems are continuing as Call of Duty: Black Ops patch 1.04 for the PS3 caused even more issues to surface. Gamers are experiencing a number of Black Ops patch problems on the PS3 such as constant connection interruption, game freezing and loss of connection to host.

Black Ops patch 1.04 on the PS3 was meant to correct a lot of the netcoding issues that have dogged Call of Duty: Black Ops since its launch in November. Despite record sales the game has been borderline unplayable on the PS3 due to connection issues, host migration problems, freezing, transmission errors, party problems, as well as poor framerate and spawn issues.
The Black Ops patch problems surfaced almost immediately and it is certain that another build will have to be released to counter these new bugs. Gamers are becoming exasperated with Treyarch and Activision who, it is claimed have released a wholly inferior version of Black Ops on the PS3 than its XBox variant. Whilst many players have welcomed Treyarch’s attempts to balance the game with tweaking to how sniper rifles work and adjusting Hardline Pro, the playerbase is getting increasingly frustrated that the game remains almost unplayable in multiplayer with frequent disconnects happening in the majority of game lobbies and the spawn system remaining infuritating.
With the fixes being deployed live, there is hope that the PS3 version of the game will now work as intended. Community Manager Josh Olin had this to say on the official Call of Duty: Black Ops forums:
Hey PS3 community –
We are aware that many online players have been experiencing connectivity issues since Tuesday’s patch. We have been working hard to track down the cause and fix them as quickly as we can. We’ve already updated the game with one “hot fix” since Tuesday’s release that has improved many of those connectivity problems, and we’ve got more coming, so stay tuned.
Forum feedback has been tremendously helpful. In fact, we’ve been on the forums, monitoring feedback and in a number of cases, working with community members directly, so please keep the feedback coming. In the meantime, know that we’re committed to doing everything we can to support the best online experience, and we’re working quickly to resolve this issue.
NOTE: There have been rumors suggesting that deleting your save data will improve network connectivity. Please do not delete your save data, as it will not have an effect on network connectivity. A hot fix was released at 9:30p PST last night, coinciding with the first instance of this rumor, and this hot fix is the reason many users have experienced improved connectivity.
Treyarch appears to be getting on top of the Black Ops patch problems on the PS3 which can only be good news for all gamers trying to play and enjoy the game

No luck…Just got game and have played or attempted to play about 30 multiplayer games…I think I’ve made it through 3…..then connection error….What the heck is going on…

I am still currently having issues with this stupid game. I am always getting disconnected due to “host issues” and it is getting VERY annoying. I have contacted Activision SEVERAL times, and all they ever refer to is, “it’s your router” blah, blah, blah. Email me at davidcarsey@yahoo.com so we can talk more about this.

Now it goes to error and white page.
I going to take this game back and get another game.
If the game does not work why is it on the market.

just been looking at the forums on the topic blackops. rumours say patch v1.06 could be out by end of the first week in janaury. Hope its true as this game could be awesome once all the problems are sorted. If not then total waste of money

My comment’s were deleted how nice. This game needs a new patch, still being disconnected due to “host”, and activision is now blaming everyone’s routers for the problems.

Guess my comment just took a while to get on here. I talked to Activision on the phone last night. The only way to fix this is opening ports on your router. They said they have no control over how Treyarch sets up the game. You go to http://www.activison.com/support, select the console and game, and search opening ports and it will give you the ports you need to open, then it will be fine. The reason is because the game requires certain ports to be open and thats just how it is, nothing we can do about it.

@ David – did exactly the same… port fowarding etc.. was also asked to delete the cache from my PS3 which I did and guess what – still the same crapy game! Constant freezing and even switches my ps3 off!!! Called Activision today and was told that they dont know what im talking about and to respond to the email they sent me… passing the buck or what! VERY dissapointed Acitivision!!! not making a good name for yourselves.. MW2 works great online – what the hell did you do with Black Ops??

PS3 platform still has TONS of problems. Today it has been loading games. The game stops loading at “waiting for other players” and then freezes there. 5 min later same thing….you eventually choose to “quit game” with PS3 button and the whole system has to reset.
I enjoy playing this game but HATE the connection, and don’t tell me it is the router. Every other game works fine and my NAT is open.

Works great for 360… lmao… i do notice lag issues here and there and im guessing its the superior graphics slowing things down. Overall the patches helped 360 alot… the matchmaking is twenty times better than when first released… had to open up my nat type on my router and screw with some firewall settings but the game is running extremely smooth for me now and i absolutely love it… i just wish they’d take knives away from noobs lol also what is it with every noob and the ak47u… jeez dont people get bored of it? Anyway i think treyarch deserves a lot more credit.than what they’re getting… i would take it over MW2 any day of the week.

GRRRRR……. getting tired of my game freezing right in the middle of the game, and go figure it always happends just when i start to get on my role. Having connection issues and host migration. When will this be fixed, or is it my game or ps3?

damn patch 1.06 still hasn’t fixed nat type if two people who have nat type strict cant join each other..even if you shouldn’t have nat type strict like me i should have open but i get strict.very annoying as it spoils the game when friends cant join one other

Tis better to have a piece of a game that works good instead of a beautiful looking version that doesn’t work. I’ll go with the wii any day over ps3. “When I want to play, I want to play!! ” (xbox should use this as their slogan.) Not spend 10 mins at a time waiting for the host to find me a compatable match only to actually have my game freeze up and eventually kick me. 1.5 minutes of actual crappy game play and 20 mins of loading. Welcome to suxville ps3! Population: all users!!!! Ha!

whenever i tried to play it my screen would go black and id have to reset my ps3 with the back switch, i sold it and i might rent it. if the problem continues, any suggestions?
