The Bayern Munich Man Utd game tonight is bound to be captivating game, with both teams in excellent form both domestically and in Europe. Please read on for a preview of tonight’s exciting UEFA Champions League fixture – the first game of this year’s quarter final games.

Bayern Munich Man Utd

As mentioned both teams are in imperious form. Bayern, admittedly, have slumped slightly in the last month; however, they are challenging on three fronts so this is to be expected. As they move into the business end of the season they will undoubetdly retain some of their form. Man Utd fans will be hoping that doesn’t happen tonight as they push for qualification.

Man Utd have been boosted by the returns of Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand to their travelling party. Both missed the 4-0 demolition of Bolton last weekend but have made the team for tonight’s important quarter final. Bayern on the other hand are likely to be without their key play maker Arjen Robben. The ex-Chelsea star pulled up during the weekend defeat to VfB Stuttgart and is a doubt.

Comparisons are bound to be drawn with the 1999 final, which Man Utd dramatically won in the final minutes of the game. However, these comparisons don’t go much further than the fixture list. Both these teams have dramatically changed since 1999. They have both embraced a more attacking style of play which is bound to make the game exciting. The score is more difficult to predict though – Man Utd will be looking for the away goal on the break – soemthing which has often proved telling in these Champions league games.

The game is due to start at 19:45 GMT so check it out if you can. TV coverage is on Sky Sports in the UK. Check UEFA.com for other countries or for live coverage. Radio telecasts are available from Radio 5 as usual.
